Reading for Teaching (Fall 2024)

Join us to launch our community of colleagues interested in a semester-long exploration of a book about teaching. We will meet four times throughout the term on Zoom (link to be provided) to reflect, share ideas, ask questions, and connect as a community of practice interested in exploring teaching and learning through a literary lens. Synchronous sessions will include structured opportunities or activities designed to help us explore applying ideas from our reading to our teaching.

A collaborative program co-developed by the Teaching Commons and York University Libraries, our Reading for Teaching program is a collegial opportunity to engage with colleagues from across campus interested in reading and learning together.

Successful completion of Reading for Teaching requires attendance at a minimum of two synchronous sessions. Please indicate which sessions you will be attending below. Our common read this term will be Co-Intelligence: living and working with AI (Ethan Mollick). You can access a description and a copy of the book via our York University Libraries catalogue. After reviewing some information about this book, please share with us below one question you have about integrating AI into your teaching practice. We will use these questions to help guide our early discussions together. *
